The TaO! youth theatre is turning Ortweinplatz square into a venue for events and a meeting place in summer 2020.
Ortweinplatz in Graz is an enchanted hub of the district and steeped in history. In summer 2020, the neighbouring TaO! youth theatre is focusing its attention on this square at the intersection of community and theatre work. A multifunctional item of wooden street furniture at the centre of the Ortweinplatz becomes a venue for performances and a meeting place.

In collaboration with the neighbourhood and institutions including the Höhere Anstalt für Mode und Bekleidung Graz (alias Ortweinschule), the aim is to create an outdoor theatre that presents the topics, motifs, people and ideas of the district, focusing on the stories of different generations on site. Work on the theatre productions will be accompanied by a series of encounter projects.
