Happiness – Seriousness / a counterpoint

   Music/Sound Art

The aim of the Klangforum Wien ensemble’s contemporary music project “Happiness – Seriousness / a counterpoint” is to reflect on the conditions of producing new things, to question the spaces of action in an urban structure, and to break open the dynamic of the experiential space of the traditional concert hall. For this purpose, the project sets out to rediscover the space of the living room and, by means of social media, to create a new intimate space for a confrontation of interpreters on the one hand and recipients on the other.

Arranged in blocks of events, there will be one interdisciplinary concert, ten chamber music concerts, and fifty tête-à-têtes via Skype per block. Against the background of its musical virtuosity and intrepidity, an attempt will be made to present the ensemble just as much as a group of contemporaries with many pertinent questions regarding the passage of time and to develop a discourse.
