International exponents of digitality in visual art, music and sound art are at the centre of this collaborative project.
“Algorithmische Segmente” (Algorithmic segments) brings together a range of similarly themed events and Graz-based initiatives in order to contribute to a critical, aesthetic scrutiny of new digital technologies. From May to July, the project will feature installations, exhibitions and interventions at spaces and partial spaces in six different places—from MUMUTH to the Kunsthaus—all connected by an app. Rendering them in sound, the app articulates and expands public space and the particular approaches, thus creating interactive soundwalks in the form of a “sound map”.
At the intersection of art and science, the project will also feature a symposium and, from 8 to 10 July 2020, the internationally renowned xCoAx conference in Graz.
This project is a cooperation of the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University of Music and Performing Arts, esc medien kunst labor, Grazer Kunstverein, Forum Stadtpark, Kunsthaus Graz, and Projektraum Reagenz.
