Bürger*innen-Konvente Graz 2020

The “Citizens’ Conventions” are instruments of direct democracy combined with digital tools that enable real grass-roots participation.

The conventions take place in five stages:

1. To begin with, citizens propose topics online that they want to discuss.
2. Then they rate online how important these topics are to them.
3. The most important topic goes on to the third stage, where citizens can contribute facts and suggest solutions in connection with the selected topic, with experts adding their own input in a “Citizens’ Forum”.

4. In the fourth stage, citizens rate online their support for or opposition to the final solutions proposed.
5. In conclusion, the results are handed over to the responsible politicians in a public “Citizens’ Café”.

Für das Kulturjahr 2020 sind vier Konvente geplant, um das Format zu etablieren, sodass es ab 2021 regelmäßig durchgeführt werden kann.
