The “Grazotopia” project deploys a complex model of participation-based, utopian urban planning and housing policy that requires and enables a collaboration of local and international experts, students and all interested residents of the city.
The process includes research, education, planning workshops, consultation, publishing (in digital and analogue media) and an exhibition. In the geographical sense, “Grazotopia” covers the whole city, with special attention given to the little heeded areas north of the Keplerstraße–Wickenburggasse–Humboldstraße axis: Lend, Geidorf, Eggenberg, Andritz and Gösting.
The future models elaborated in this project will be presented at Haus der Architektur, published in cooperation with Schauraum and Amateur Cities, and documented and showcased on a website.
