The omnipresence of plastic on our planet is one of the most urgent environmental problems of our time. The “strange views” project draws attention to this problem at prominent public sites around the city of Graz. With mazes of plastic bottles, an interactive plastic bottle installation on Graz’s Schlossberg hill, the “Graz Embottled” exhibition in the Liesl bell tower, the joint exhibition “To Another View” with artistically fashioned recycling material, and finally an artistic waste transport from Novi Sad to Graz and back.
“strange views” relies on the participation of the local population of Graz to create the art objects and additionally to educate people. The aim of the multifaceted art actions is to raise public awareness of the way we deal with plastic waste. “strange views” is a joint international project of the Austrian art association arTTension in collaboration with the Berufsvereinigung Bildender Künstler (BVBK) and the Serbian cultural association SULUV.
