“Unheimliches Tal” (Uncanny valley) by Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll) is the world’s first play in which a real humanoid acts on stage in place of a flesh-and-blood actor. The Graz première of this Münchner Kammerspiele theatre production is a central element of the main programme theme “Utopia” which is being curated by the Schauspielhaus as part of the DramatikerInnenfestival and the concurrent conference of the European Theatre Convention (ETC).
Other items of the programme include a guest performance by the German performance artist and theatre director Simone Dede Ayivi (“First Black Woman in Space”) and the Schauspielhaus production of the two-act play “Frau Ada denkt Unerhörtes” by Martina Clavadetscher. In addition, writers will be presenting the results of writing commissions awarded in connection with the “Utopia” programme theme.
